<p>I think that if you were meant to get in, you'd get in regardless on where you were born or what your 'race' is.</p>

<p>if anything, even college admissions officials admit that the application process is to a large degree, mostly luck and chance</p>

<p>"Menat to get in" means u were the goddamn best in everything and Harvard has absolutely no reason not to fall over themselves trying to get you into their school.</p>
<p>i think that if u really have to rely on your race to get into college, you really need to get a grip on yourself. </p>
<p>On the other hand, if you had extraneous circumstances related to your race (ie: growing up in a poor immigrant neighborhood where 80% of your community hasn't even heard of college, being homeless, <em>just</em> arriving in america, not being able to speak english...) than you really deserve that "edge" becuase you triumphed over adversity.</p>
