I sent an Email to one of the Cornell's member of educational board and asked...

I sent an Email to that Prof. and described my situation plus enclosed my CV and asked him whether there is a chance for me to be accepted at Cornell or not...
Here comes his reply...

Dear Ms. ...................,

Thank you for your interest in studying at Cornell, and for your interest in working
with me. Unfortunately, the latter will not be possible, because I will be entering
into phased retirement later this year, and will not be accepting more students.
Attending Cornell should be possible, although as you mention, it is expensive, and
we have had to cut back on the number of assistantships offered by our department.
So I would urge you to complete your MSc, and apply to work with another faculty
member at this university.

Best of luck,
.......................

I was wondering what you guys think...you see any rays of hope in his reply? Can I still be hopeful and motivated to c myself at Cornell one day...?

Please let me know...it means alot to me... Thanks

Are you a hs or college student?

Im studing my M.Sc. right now…asked for the PhD courses…

Choose a different potential advisor if you want to attend Cornell? That person is probably just sending that email to everyone with your kind of inquiry since he is moving toward retirement.
