I mailed my parents' 2009 tax return to USC on Tuesday. How long does it take USC to review the tax return and update my FA status on my USConnect account? When will I hear back from the USC FA office?

We faxed our tax return in - got an immediate email confirmation, and it appeared on the list of documents within about 3 days. Daughter mailed hers in (she could have WALKED it in to the fin aid office!!!) and it took *two full weeks *to appear as received.

In the “contact us” area, they say to please not inquire about missing documents until two weeks have passed.

Either way, Tuesday should be fine in terms of getting your fin aid package before you have to decide on a college May 1st. Most packages appear by the end of the first week of April to mid April.

Good luck!

Do they need tax returns? Some people say they don’t this year.

I was asked for tax returns.

opheliarose, you must sumbit signed tax returns if you have applied for need-based financial aid. (The exception is if you do not qualify for need-based aid and have only submitted the FAFSA to get unsubsidized Stafford and/or Parent PLUS loans.) Check page one of this thread http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-southern-california/839970-faq-usc-financial-aid-2010-a.html?highlight=faq+financial+aid for more info. Good luck!

Oh it seems like it is better to fax the tax returns :S I actually mailed it… although I paid extra money for Express…

Should I call USC to make sure that the tax return was received?
