I should probably apply to more schools...

I've applied to 4 already. University of Illinois at Chicago(super back up), American University(most realistic), Georgetown, and Johns Hopkins. The last two are if by some miracle i make it.

I really want to to go school in DC to study International Relations. I didn't like GWU very much so i decided not to apply.

heres some quick stats:

ACT:26
SAT: 1870
GPA: 3.4

Lots of community service hours, several leadership positions, 2 varsity sports, great teacher recommendations, hopefully good essays, diversity, and rigorous high school coursework (including a French course at a local university)

any suggestions on schools in DC or the east coast in general with good IR programs would be much appreciated.

How about George Mason?

George Mason could be good. It's quite close to DC.

If you can get your SAT up just a bit (or get recruited by a coach there), I'd say you also have a good shot at UMD.

Also, it's no where near DC, but Denison is supposed to have a great program. I think you could probably get in.

Don't forget about Catholic University of America in DC. Get good grades there and then go to Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in DC for grafuate school.

University of Maryland, College Park
