I am so devastated right now…
I applied ED1 to NYU, and despite double and triple checking, I failed to realize that I put in my courses that I am taking AP Econ for an entire year, when in fact it is only a semester class, and that second semester I will be taking AP Political Science…
What do I do? Should I contact them and explain the mishap? I am honestly so confused as to how I missed this, despite reviewing my application…

@NorthernMom61 Really? Alright… I still feel compelled to own up to my mistake and contact them about it.
I was reviewing my application once more (for the sadistic fun of it!) today as I await my college decision from NYU, and when I saw that mistake, I gasped so loudly that I startled my grandmother… I honestly hope this doesn’t end up being the difference between attending my dream school and not.
This is something you should correct. Just email admissions, and matter of factly ask them to please correct the following item in your common app, and describe the correction. Don’t make excuses, but say please and thank you. Don’t stress, it won’t have an impact on your app to tell them this correction.
@intparent What information do I need to use in my email to indicate who exactly that I am? Just telling them my name would be rather ambiguous. Apparently I am supposed to have some sort of NYU ID #, which would seem perfect to include in my email, but I have not been able to locate one.
Ah… most colleges send an email with portal information a few days after you apply., and you will have it then. I would give them your full name and SSN if you send it before then – or wait until that comes, then send the correction. I think you could wait if you want to.
@intparent As anxious as I am right now, I think I would be helping them out if I just waited the couple of days so tha I could provide them directly with my portal ID.

I really hope the admissions officers see past this minor error. I distinctly remember using my current school schedule to list my courses in order, and as a result, the missing AP Political Science of second semester slipped my mind.
@intparent Last question, should I email the NYU admission team’s main email address, or should I try and email my regional admissions counselor? Unfortunately, at https://www.nyu.edu/admissions/undergraduate-admissions/contact-us/meet-the-admissions-staff.html , none of the counselors’ emails are listed here.
