Please tell me I am wrong....Or is it? Average GPA for most science class is B- which is 2.8....

Not that B- average is wrong but I have to fight to get B-. Probably my problem that I am not smart enough

I don’t really know if Cal is a good place to do pre-med. I just happen to think that if you’re an average student at Cal, or at anywhere, you shouldn’t think of medical school.

I see your point too. I just happen to have my friends have 3.8 GPA from my state school honors college and claim 3.8 GPA is not that great while it seems clear to me 3.8 at Cal is unachievable for me.

Have you talked to the pre-med advisors?

https://career.berkeley.edu/Info/PremedAppt.stm
They even won’t let me have consultation.

It’s achievable. Two of my colleagues’ daughters graduate from UCB with 3.95 GPA and above.

Cal is strong for pre-med, many applicants do very well.

Read the whole page that you linked-there are lots of available resources for freshman through the pre-health office. Freshman still have access to the Pre-Health drop in appointments offered every Tuesday on a first come, first served basis.

You can also get advice from the academic advisors for your major. For example, they can talk to you about available support (study groups, drop-in tutoring) to get you through the rest of this semester.

It is definitely difficult. I have quite a few friends on that track. They work hard. It isn’t impossible.
