i think i am going to cry, oh wait. i already am

yea well pretty much all my college dreams are shattered , i have many regrets and nothing i am proud of. I dont know waht to do.
I was accepted to Boston University, and George Washington but i cant afford either of them, but am pretty sure i will recieve no finanical aid(no scholarships) Ive been accepted to UCI UCSB, and university of washington

i was rejected at: ucsd my dream school , and am trying to appeal
uc berkeley
cornell
ucla

and havent heard from tufts, or nyu im assuming rejections
I DONT WANT to go to ucsb, uci or uwash, but i cant afford the other 2. what do i do??:frowning:

What's wrong with UCSB or UCI?

sydney -

You can be proud of being admitted to all those schools. It hurts lots now, but give it a few days and you'll have it in perspective. This is just one kink in the road.

this sounds a little like me.

my dream school used to be ucsd, but i got rejected

and i'm considering ucsb now. i'm kinda excited and it is a good school and a beautiful campus. ucsb and uci are very good schools!

Well, look on the bright side. At least you were accepted somewhere. I've been rejected by four of the five schools I applied to (still waiting to hear from the fifth)

i was rejected from my dream school UCSD like awakenedream. I cried a lil n was very depressed. But then now i'm glad that I didnt get in cuz i fell in love w/ UCI. My perspective changed a lot. I'm pretty sure i could get in SD if i appeal cuz i have new evidence but i dotn wanna appeal anymore cuz i'm going to UCI!!! I'm an Anteater yay.

You already heard from George Washington?

You can always go to a ccc, work hard and then get into a top UC. The degree is the exact same one people who started as freshmen get! Don't know why more people don't do it rather than a lower UC. Good luck!

have you looked into loans for BU or George Washington ?

sydney22, as much as I can sympathize with how you're feeling, it's not exactly like you're "settling" for the schools you got into. Work hard there, and if you find that you still pine for Geisel Library, then you can always apply to transfer.

its just that because gw and bu costs SO much and the UC's i got into are around the same level, my parents will only pay for the uc's. So basically i dont have any options. its just dishearteneing to know you dont have any choices, and about the loan i jsut dont want to be in debt.

what was your financial aid packet for GW and BU?

whatever.... i was pretty bummed about UCSD as well. I just recently toured irvine and davis and feel in love with both campuses. Both have a ton of excellent opportunities and stellar students. Honestly, college really is what you make out of it. I'm going to work really my tail off at whichever one i go to so i can make a great grad school.

in a nuthsell , no fin aid for bu or gw. whats my best option?

How have you not heard about Tufts? Didn't you check online?
Keep in mind that plenty of people don't go to their "dream school" and end up being thrilled, manydo, and end up disappointed. If you don't want to take out a loan to go to Boston or GW, then through yourself whole heartedly into your options. Visit them and pretend theyre the only places you applied. You may be suprised at what you find when you change your perspective.

Were you in the stats range where you'd expect a mereit scholarship at BU? Because they often send the merit award letters long after the acceptance letters.
