Did I drop the ball by not suggesting to my daughter that she should file a FAFSA as a rising graduate student.

She should check her schools. It’s probably not too late to file it.

There isn’t a lot of need based aid for grad students, but this will give her access to grad plus and Direct loans. Some schools do have work study.

I also suggested my daughter, a grad student, file FAFSA just in case the school distributes covid money like it did last year to anyone who filed FAFSA.

Doesn’t hurt, doesn’t cost anything except a few minutes of time. Also, if the school does end up with extra scholarships for that department, they might consider her.
