<p>want to study french during my BS. I took 4 years spanish and 2 years french in hs and I plan to do chinese as my main language in college . I plan to do a 6 week summer in senegal, africa, where french is spoken, and a semester all in spanish with another summer in japan and a year in taiwan/china....but i love portuguese too. what else can I do to prepare myself for the french I will need to speak</p>

<p>Check if the graduate program is truly taught in French. It might be taught in English. </p>
<p>Unless you are particularly gifted, being more selective with your choices might be a good idea. Jack of all trades and master of none comes to mind.</p>
<p>One of the best things for my daughter’s French was getting a private tutor for conversation. They also read books together and discussed them. It was a lot better than Rosetta Stone or other self-study curriculum.</p>
<p>Umm, after 2 years of HS french you will be barely able to do Intermediate French at a college level, let alone be able to do graduate study.</p>
