I just recently learned about Reed. How did I hear about it, honestly? I want a dog at school. But that's changed a lot.
I was reading about Reed, to see if I would even want to go there. And something caught my eye about it. They talk about learning. And loving to learn. And guess what? I love to learn. I love discussing things in class. I love teachers who don't mind me asking questions after class. I also love teachers who don't give busy work. That's been the thorn in my side in high school; busy work. I can't do it. It's not interesting and it just generally bugs me. I'm one of those people who needs to be interested to be able to learn, and it sounds like Reed would be the place to do it.
Also, Reed seems to just be.. Good. I love the environment, and apparently Reed students do too. I love pretty places. Period. I love open space and I'm generally unable to be in a city for a prolonged period of time. I have an inner-nerd, obviously.
My stats aren't so great. I'm definitely not that person who has 700 ECs and is on a varsity sports team. I have a 3.67 UW, and a 4.37 W. I've taken A LOT of honors and AP classes, and I'm in the Global Ecology Studies Program. I've been in Roots and Shoots for three years, and I've been secretary and VP. I volunteer for Personal Ponies like a maniac, and I'm doing my senior project there. I recently got interested in theatre, and I was a supporting lead in Footloose and Pillow Talk, and might be a supporting lead or lead in Beauty and the Beast. I'm African American, Native American, and Caucasian, as well. I'm a girl.
I'm pretty sure that I'm really almost in love with Reed. I think it's kicked Hamilton off it's pedestal in my head. To me, it seems pretty much like a perfect fit.
What do you guys think? Do I have a chance of getting in, and would I like it?

Btw, just ask for any info about me if you need it.

There are cat dorms, but no dog dorms. :( Students who live off-campus are welcome to bring their dogs to school, but freshmen live on-campus. It does sound like you would like Reed. I see in another thread that your SAT is a bit on the low side for Reed, and that you're awaiting your ACT score. Your GPA looks good with H and AP classes. I don't see any reason not to apply, even if Reed might be a slight reach. :)

Well, I actually have a chinchilla that I'd bring if I went to Reed.
I do have a concern, though. I'm not exactly extremely edgy or unique or whatever Reed students are. In short, I'm kinda sorta really preppy. I dunno if I'd be able to fit in, I guess.
Sorry that I forgot my SATs. I just kind of.. Overlooked it. Too tired or something, trying to keep up with four AP classes. >.<
SAT - 610 CR, 660 M, 630 W.
ACT - Waiting. Hoping. Wanting it to be November.

Depends what you mean by preppy.
Do you mean you bring nylons and heels to Reed? ( D had a friend that did that)
Reed is small enough that if you have an open mind- you fit in, because it isn't large enough for cohorts of pierced- pale- smokers who are vegan and contemplating a sex change, to hang out by themselves. ( well maybe * that* group- but nobody else ;) )

If nylons mean leggings/tights, then yes. And polos. And Ugg-type boots without the whole being made of sheep and cows part.
However, I am a vegetarian who eats all organic. My mom owns an organic store. Hmm.

no actually I meant flesh colored sheer pantyhose and pumps ;)
( she was a nice Catholic girl from a small town in a rural state- I believe she had my D tag along with her when she wrote an article for the paper on piercings and tattoos.
That were not in areas that your grandmother would see.
They both survived.

Portland is good for veggie food
Not as good as Seattle but close. but many affordably and yummy restaurants.
there also is a Trader Joes within walking distance , with Limbo a veggie/bulk herbs store next door.
