well, I was going to contact my ALO a few weeks ago, after my first semester grades came in. Once I got them I realized I received a 3.5… It may not seem too bad (the farthest grade I had from a an A was 88.2) However (if you may remember) during my freshman year I got solid 3.00’s. This brings me to a 3.25. I’ve wanted to go to the AFA my whole life and I still have a solid devotion to it. But guys, could you please be solidly truthful; do I still have a chance?

Well, all you can be sure of is that if you do NOT try, and try your hardest, you WON’T get in. Let your ALO know the grades.

The man who says he can’t and the man who says he can are usually both correct.

Thanks guys, I needed to hear that. I’m calling him today

I’m an ALO and I would tell you: “Quit…ONLY if that’s what you truly want to do.”

Otherwise, hang in there and keep after it!!

Just be persistent with getting your grades up, but make sure your doing plenty of ECs and the like to make up for the “lower” GPA. A bad grade or two shouldn’t discourage you. You’ll never know if you give up now.

There is a guy who was in my squad last year who went to the prep school, but he only had a 2.9 in high school
