I think I'm going to Bing, but I have a few questions first...

I think I'm going to Binghamton, but I guess I'm kind of hesitant on picking my school, especially since I didn't expect to have my mind made up this early. I was expecting to pick a school in April or May.

Anyways, I've visited and I loved it, however I wish I had friends who went there so I could visit for a weekend and really get a feel for the school before sending in my deposit and making everything official. Unfortunately, thats not the case.

So all in all, what is Binghamton like? socially (does the town offer enough stuff to do during the week and on the weekends? I've heard the school is extremely cliquey as well and not in a good way... but I guess every school has its cliques right?), academically (premed/prelaw), etc.

Also, when do you housing arrangements start? Is it kind of like whoever gets their deposit in first gets a better chance on getting their first choice hall and room type?

I'm definitely visiting one more time before making my final decision. Hopefully I can get some helpful answers on here :)

Binghamton isn’t at all cliquey. If you are open to making a variety of friends, you will find others like that as well. Sure there are exceptions, but the school is large enough that you shouldn’t worry about it.

In general, there is stuff to do but it’s up to you and your new friends to find it and utilize it. Use your imagination and have fun.

Freshman housing begins on the same day (so as long as your housing deposit is in before then, you’ll be fine). And yes, the earlier its in, the better but that isn’t all the determines how it works.

Please excuse me if I’m uninformed or I missed a post somewhere, but why do you have to make a decision sooner than April or May? Thanks

I think the OP is saying that he/she hadn’t expected to either be accepted to most of his/her schools by now and is surprised that he/she is, or he/she is saying that Bing was basically a top choice and, again, wasn’t expecting to hear from this top choice until April when everyone else “usually” hears.
