With a 35 ACT I would not bother retaking the SAT. Both are considered equally so just send the ACT score.

Might look at Holy Cross or Tufts-both have great pre-med programs. HC is more sports focused -competes in Patriot League and against many Ivies. Holy Cross is about same size as Rice and has nice campus-1 hour from Boston.

Yeah, holy smokes…a 35 ACT? That’s nutts. Was that with writing? If so, apply to UVa! It’s kinda like UNC and has a E-School and great research opps. I’m a Neuroscience major too so lemme know if you have any questions about that! We also have AccessUVa which basically treats ISS and OOS students the same in terms of financial aid and then meets 100% of need. And def, we hold true to “play hard, work hard”.

My D is a Midwesterner, too, and her goal was to go to a place where she could graduate debt free between what she got from a school and what we had saved. She wound up at one of her safeties, but has really been challenged and loves the school. It meets all of your criteria and is very generous for merit aid w/your stats. No SATII required, and free if you apply online. It is Trinity in San Antonio. ~2500 UG, 250G, beautful campus in a residential area of SA, 10 min. from downtown.
