I Told A Teacher I'm Dropping...Now She Hates Me?

I've always been well-liked by the teachers in the building. I'm never late, always do my homework, etc.
However, today I told my math teacher I was dropping...and her reaction was not good.
She signed my form but asked me many questions.
She asked if I thought she had a bad teaching style.
I told her no, and that she was a great teacher, but my math credits from a local CC transfered onto my transcript and I just thought I should take a different class. I remained polite throughout the conversation.
She made sarcastic comments back and was obviously very annoyed.

However, although the drop will soon go through, it may not before her class on Monday.
I really do not want to sit in her class anymore.

How long do drops normally take? What should I do?

I don’t know how time efficient your school is - drops in my school take one day (you drop the class Tuesday afternoon, and by Wednesday morning, you’re in the new class.) However, it could take a few days longer for you.

Don’t dwell on it too much. Even if you do have to sit through her class for another day, just keep to yourself and avoid eye contact.

In the grand scheme of things, it’s one person out of 7 billion in the world who doesn’t like you.

Its a school teacher, who cares. You will be gone in a few years and never will have to see her. Its your decision to make. She should have no say in it. And considering the way she acted, perhaps you should have been a bit more "un"polite.

Yeah, she’s the one being unprofessional here. How long the drop will take depends on your school…
If you have to attend her class for a day, sit there and look super engaged so that she feels slightly mollified. Oh, and after your final class (or whenever you see her, really) thank her for being a great teacher. That’ll get her to like you.
