Does anyone know where I can find an actual pen pal? (and I mean by writing letters and mailing them; not by e-mail). I want to learn how to speak French, Russian, and Japanese. I also am interested in writing to someone from a Spanish-speaking country so I can maintain my Spanish proficiency. Does anywone here fit my description, or can anyone find me someone I could write to? Thanks a lot. Here's my e-mail: poebrown@ear thlink.net

I'll give you my address from there.

Find gianscolere1; he might be able to direct you to a few sites; once there you can obtain the emails and then the addresses of the penpal, from which your objectives can be realized.
You may also be able to find someone on the International Board.

Alright. Thank you!

If you do get the websites, could you post them on here?

Hah, I found you first!

Some months ago, I started a thread on this very topic: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=132053

The most reliable site I found was www.interpals.net . I now have a penpal from Germany who speaks multiple languages.

That's a really good idea, actually. I've been meaning to pick up Spanish again after not studying it since middle school (I already speak Swedish and French fluently). At some point I would also love to learn Hindi and Arabic... but that'll be for later.

Maybe my username should've been "linguaphile"? ;)
