I am considering being a lawyer because I think I will make a lottt of money.

I like contract law and have won some money for a few friends by presenting evidence and detailed analysis of contract issues to their arbitrators that they would have over looked if I had not pointed them out. I have to be honest, I love making companies lose money when they screw up in a contract. Especially banks and credit card companies as they are, in my opinion are the most guilty.

My personal (I am completely honest here) reasons to be attend law school are the following:

Money

Because I don’t like banks or Credit Card companies and I plan to give free advice and help to anyone who has a problem with these companies.

To lobby against same sex marriages and fund campaigns that do away with this nonsense and to fight criminal credit card and bank practices.

More money (I have to be honest here, unless you want to be eating dollar meals forever).

Because I like wearing a suit and seeing the expression on someones face when I involve them in a legal dispute that will causes them anxiety and money.

I hate science.

I hate cubicles.

I enjoy reading (alot).

I feel somewhere amongst these goals society will become a better place. I don’t really entertain any lofty longstanding legal questions at night. My agenda plate is full (see above). Working at a firm and then going on my own and pursuing my own plan.

So should I attend law school? Am I a good match?

Working at a biglaw firm as you say you want to do, you might find it hard to hold grudges against banks and other big business, chances are you will be working for them at one time or another.

large companies and banks are the types of clients who pay lawyers a lot of money.
you don't make money by giving "free advice and help to anyone who has a problem with these companies."
"To lobby against same sex marriages and fund campaigns that do away with this nonsense and to fight criminal credit card and bank practices." -- again, not the type of practice that brings in much money.

your primary goal of making money seems to be at odds with what it is you think you would actually be doing as a lawyer.

I dunno about you guys, but I thought he was totally serious. I mean, come on, isn't everyone's reason for wanting to become a lawyer, "Because I like wearing a suit and seeing the expression on someones face when I involve them in a legal dispute"

It's true that lawyers can make good money. But it's a tough road to get to that point. There are definitely easier ways to make money if that's your only motivation.
