Just curious: those of you planning on going to law school, what are your aspirations? What makes you want to be lawyers?

I love to argue, hahaha. No seriously, I like to argue, no matter whether the argument is oral or written. Also, I have a strong interest in politics, international relations, judicial system, law, and well any type of career dealing with government and policy. Even if I ultimately decide not to practice law, I believe that knowledge of the law is fundamental for working in government or policy. If you look at it historically, most great statesmen had great knowledge of the law. Also, if I decide to go into academia (after law school or later in my life, and yes I know even more school is required for that), I believe teaching and researching law would be much more interesting than teaching political science or public policy.

I want to go into Patent Law b/c I think it would be a way to stay on the forefront of technology without having to work in a lab (I'm not the best with labortory work). But all those things may change. I'm still not exactly sure what a patent lawyer does (or if I'm even right) but it sounds interesting and I'm keeping it at the the front of my pack of options.
