so i just wrote my essay for the brown supplement and i absolutely love it. I just spent an intense hour with the words just flowing from me and they came out sounding right and now im reading it and i absolutely love it, and im trying to figure out how i can conform it to fit the essay prompts of all my other colleges. however, i just looked back at the supplement and it says 500 words MAXIMUM. and i checked and its 850 words. ahhhhhhh! i want to cry. there is literally no sentence i want to omit. i know i shouldnt submit it so much longer than the word limit, but do you think it can be over the word limit at all? or do you think i should really make it less than 500?

Can I read it? Also, to which prompt did you respond? I will see if anything can be omitted.

I suggest you sleep on it for at least a week and then revisit it. No first draft is perfect, and do you really want Brown to think you can’t follow simple directions? Also, if you’d like someone to read over your work, I wouldn’t mind looking over it for you.

i can edit it for you

I’ll read it if you wanna read my brown essay.

I’ll read it. Usually there is something you can change or shorten for conciseness. Part of being a good writer is being a good editor. (stole that from my writing teacher)
