<p>Can that be done? If so, at what universities? I'm interested in being an author of fiction and starting my own indie films based off of my writing, but before I kick of my career I want to write for big newspaper/magazines.</p>

<p>No, creative writing is not the same as journalism. While journalism can mean creative nonfiction in some areas, all creative writing is not journalism. Nor is journalism “creative” writing.</p>
