I want to know my chances of getting into the University of Texas at Austin

I am a currently a junior in high school in Minnesota.
I want to apply for early action this fall.
I have wanted to go to UT since I was a little kid.
My school does not have class rank or weighted GPA because we graduate about 750 a class.
I have a 3.8 unweighted GPA with 1 honors class and 3 AP classes and a 26 on the ACT.
I want to get into the business school and I have taken just about every business class offered here plus internships through the school.
I am a 2 sport varsity athlete and have taken leadership roles in both.
I am in DECA (association of marketing students) and was a finalist in state competition.
I am a great writer and have great people to write my recommendation letters.

What are my chances?

Everything is exceptional except for your ACT score. Just work hard and raise it significantly and your chances of getting in will go up a lot.

It’s very difficult to get into UT as an OOS student, especially if you want to get into the business school. I wouldn’t get my hopes up if I were you.

I would say save your money and don’t bother applying to UT. Are you trying to improve your ACT? Even Carlson only has a 16% with an ACT in your range, and UT has much higher standards for OOS that instate auto admits.

Well, here is who they admitted from out of state last year: http://bealonghorn.utexas.edu/whyut/profile/outofstate

It is very competitive for OOS students applying to UT Austin. The top 7% auto-admission from in state high school students take most of the seats already. Your stat is rather weak among other applicants. Try to bring up you ACT score to at least 30+ for a reasonable chance.

McCombs Business school is very hard to get into because so many students wants a spot. Work on your ACT, research business programs and apply to a balanced list of schools. UT can be on your list but add some sure bets too.
