Hi everyone! I am considering going to college in Europe because degrees there are cheaper. I am considering VU Amsterdam.
Will a degree from Europe hurt me in US jobs compared with a degree from American colleges?
It will hurt you no more than any US university would (at an equivalent rank).
If you are a US citizen, I would say take it (for the cheaper European University). Having citizenship means you won’t have to compete for an H-1 visa or anything of that sort.
^I think it would depend on the industry and the European university. Some are better known than others. VU Amsterdam isn’t well recognized in the United States, and questions may arise about whether the education there is comparable to the states.
