I want to start working on GT essays now but waiting on ED from another school

Since Georgetown requires the application payment before entering the applicant portal, I am waiting on my ED decision before spending money on the GT application. However, I would like to start working on my essays now. Could anyone post all the GT essay prompts this year down below? I would really appreciate it. Thank you!

as well as word count please

It’s the same every year and available on their admissions page. Link here: https://georgetown.app.box.com/s/mf16ixp0ww4ndf66uy7ayrboqmo0vmc8

You might consider sending in that application fee anyway as they are currently scheduling interviews for RD.

Hmm interesting, I think I will still wait because I don’t think it will hurt me if I am not offered an interview due to that reason. I will most definitely accept an interview opportunity

@asianfu - the website is pretty clear that you are supposed to set up your application ASAP. Is that a money hole? Maybe. But it also lets them know that you are interested enough to apply. So while it’s smart to wait to SEND your application till your ED decision is out, you can’t even get the proper forms to teacher and counselor to COMPLETE your application until you have initialized the application process with that fee. Not sure when your school returns from Winter Break - my S19’s school returns on Jan. 7th and the application is due on the 10th. Not much time for your rec. letters to get out the door (or does your school graciously accept rec. letter requests during the holidays?).

In addition, it appears that interviews are on a “first come/first served” basis. I don’t think your application will be hurt if you are NOT offered an interview. But if you would LIKE an interview it would be best to get that process going ASAP so that you are in their system.

Finally, we know for a fact that GTown waitlists highly talented applicants who apply last minute because it demonstrates lack of interest (this happened to a relative not too long ago and they were very up front with him about why he didn’t get in). Applying now would hopefully still prevent that impression.
