I want to stop playing games

I know it's a waste of time but I keep playing it. How can I abandon gaming once and for all?

Uninstall the game/put it away in the closet.

Learn a sport, craft, musical instrument, foreign language, read a book, or even study when you get the urge to game.

You can stop gaming as easily as you can start.

break the CDs or mail them to someone that lives 100+ miles away.

Develop some other interests. Hang out with friends who are not so much into games.

start studying for the MCAT

Get a girlfriend… or boyfriend, whatever floats your boat.

The process of getting one is also a good video game deterrent.

haha some good (and amusing) ideas on this thread! btw it’s good that you have realized that you need to stop playing. that’s the first and hardest step! so don’t get discouraged.

Sell them. Really. I sold many of the games I never played for months, and I got a decent amount of money to help me apply to colleges. :)

Nothing is wrong with a game once in a while! Learn self control. That will help you out while being pre-med, and in life in general. No need to deny yourself the awesomeness of a fantasy world.
