i want to transfer but have a low HS gpa!! help?

<p>i want to transfer, but i have no idea on what schools to even begin looking at. my high school gpa was very low and i feel like that will hurt me alot, even though i had a pretty good first semester at college. can anyone recommend some schools for me to look at?</p>

<p>here are my stats...</p>

<p>h.s. gpa - 3.0
college gpa - 3.4
SATs - verbal - 610, math - 580, writing - 650
SAT 2s - math1 - 620, lit - 640</p>

<p>i am currently at umass amherst. i am looking for another medium to large size school with a solid reputation. any ideas??</p>

<p>I’ve been told Stony Brook is up and coming (and cheap). Depends on your major, but give it a look.</p>
