I want to transfer to Fordham?

Fordham is my top choice because of location and rank. I am going to a community college in Pennsylvania. On their site it doesn't say anything as to what classes are required for transfers. I know a high GPA would be required. I want to double major in finance/math. Here is a list of classes I have planned to take. I think i need to cut down on some too.

71 credits total

Also, I will be in the Phi Tetta Kappa honors society. Other than that no extracurricular activities. Although I am trying to start up a trading/investing club. God willing.

I forgot to mention I was born in Russia(diversity?). I have a job in fast food. Not exactly where I want to be right now but there isn’t any jobs around here. I want to go to the lincoln center its in NYC. I want to live near NYC. My goal is to graduate from Fordham then go on to proprietary trading in NYC. Then go back for my MFE. Eventually, after all the education I will have more respect from investors and only then will I be able to raise the right amount to start a hedge fund. I have a passion for trading and honestly its what I do best… literally. My strong suit is business/math.

Chance me threads are my least favorite on CC, and among those, the transfers are harder to predict because they are a different paradigm than freshmen admissions. Sorry, can’t help you. Good luck.

I don’t chance people, but I believe that Fordham (like most colleges) will require that you take at least half of your classes at the school. So it may not be worth it to take more than 60 credits at a community college. I would check with someone at Fordham. I don’t know the transfer process so I can’t help you all that much. But good luck.

You should look at the core requirements and major/minor requirements on the Fordham website. That will tell you what you need to take. I doubt remedial courses will transfer over. The normal freshman course load for Fordham is 5 3-credit courses per semester, so if you want to transfer going into soph year you should have no less than 30 credits. If you plan to transfer going into junior year you can’t have more than 60 credits count because you need to complete 2 years at Fordham in order to graduate. You have a LOT of summer courses listed, are you sure you’re able to take that many? Many schools only let you take 2 courses per summer.

Should i drop intermediate algebra and go with college algebra this semester instead? Yes im going to cut it down some. Starting with business law 2. should i then take trig? or go to precalc-calc 1-calc 2 or just calc for business?

That depends, if you need precalc etc to get to college level math then you should go that route. If you feel comfortable succeeding in a tougher class go to that but only if you think you’ll do well in it. Fordham has an ENORMOUS core curriculum and I’d suggest looking at that to pick your courses. You should probably fill them before you start taking anything major specific.

can i get a link to this?

[Core Curriculum for Class of 2013 and Beyond – Fordham University](http://69.7.74.46/section8/section85/section1696/index.html)

From the looks of it you need to apply to the Gabelli school of business which is located on the Rose Hill campus… I don’t think Finance is offered at lincoln center.
