I was admitted to California Institute of the Arts in Fall 2014. A group of people intended to physically harm me and damaged a part of my body where I have to pick another career.
The first thing my school did to help me was to help me fill out the form of Leave of Absence after being admitted to behavioral health unit.
I would like to share my experience at CalArts if anyone out there is considering applying to CalArts in the hope of young artists and their families avoiding what I went through physically and mentally.
I went to Campus Safety, police and USDE but nothing is helping so I’ll be writing my experience to raise the awareness of CalArts’ poor support and how the school fail to protect a student, and whom they actually like to keep in school when there’s such an incident.
The school’s poor support become a news before I came to CalArts and I really wish I had known about it so I could have chosen another college.

I was admitted to California Institute of the Arts in Fall 2014, awarded internationally only twice before CalArts which is very very very small in number compared to my classmates/schoolmates.
I was super excited to get in to my life dream school since I was 8. Not only pursuing my own arts, but I also got to collaborate with artists from other fields. It expanded my abilities and chances in arts that I got to do something I have never done before. I was really enjoying my busy school life until March 2015.
No offense, but this isn’t really the place to be posting this. Since you said ‘AMA’, this is probably best for a place like Reddit or a site specifically for serious fine art majors (not that CC has none, it’s just this section is relatively quiet compared to other forums on here).
In addition, you could post it on forums for specific colleges (RISD, SCAD, even the CalArts page have those interested in similar fields, i.e. Animation - Yale and other similar schools aren’t as ‘serious’, according to a few seniors headed to art school in the fall) but don’t post it as a Q&A. Just post what happened, and people will respond and ask if they have questions.
