yeh i had a strong reason but now even if columbia offered me admissions i would throw it away.

Yo- last year I was deferred early decision from Columbia. Yes, I didn't receive the best SATs in the world (1370- old) or the best GPA (3.8), but that's not all that matters. They care about who you are as a person; how you interview is extremely important, as is your ESSAY. I am an aspiring writer, so my essay was naturally very good. For all deferred: write Columbia an email or letter expressing how much you want to go there. It will help, and they will read it.

Continue hard in school, and keep your head up

OUT

imiracle, you are a great applicant and its columbia's loss to defer you. don't withdraw you application now. I know I can't understant how you are feeling about the decision but if you loved columbia that much to apply ED then keep you application there. don't let the deferal get to ya.

my advice is that even if you are 100% sure you don't want to attend columbia anymore now, dont withdraw yet. wait a few weeks and carefully think about the situation again. maybe by then you'll feel different about the school.

anyhow, GL with the rest of you RD application.
