<p>Tman- you did what you could. At best, CB gives you a refund and you get our pity. At worst, you somehow get denied access to CBs future tests and ridiculed here.</p>
<p>Life- whether or not tman ui guilty or not, his initial question has been answered. Thousands of kids cheat and go unpunished. And an overwhelming majority of kids flip to another section if they have extra time.</p>
<p>For all of us CCers that weren’t there, as well as the proctor, we don’t know what happened. We can offer our pity but the verdict has been given. For the proctor, they decided the evidence points against tman. Guilty or innocent, none of us have the ability to be well-informed adaquetely; heck, I could have been in that room even.</p>
<p>But anyhow, please continue the drama. (grabs a soda)</p>

<p>Anyway… Legatus, i think i should point out that this proctor is not in good standing with students. I’ll say that he’s not a very nice person, but he’s been called a lot worse names i.e. jerk, fat ■■■■■■■, d0uchebag, @$$hole, and other names I shouldn’t even write out.
He’s made seating charts for test-takers, writes down how many questions each person leaves blank, and other stuff. This guy just dismisses students all the time, for both ACT and SAT. It’s really bad luck if this guy ends up as your proctor and he’s out to get you. Plus, you’d likely end up paying for the retake too.</p>
<p>Which reminds me, that “buddy” that Life mentioned who got dismissed because cell phone (btw, tman doesn’t know who that is. They’re not buddies. See? She’s making up more stories, but I digress.)
Back on point, I asked around. Whoever that student was, I can only establish that a cell phone went off during the test. Seems to me that the poor kid was so amped up for the test that he forgot to switch off his phone or put it on vibrate. That proctor just kicked him out because his phone went off during the test. As far as this person’s “cheating” goes, I haven’t heard anyone say that except for Lifeofsolitude. I guess everyone is cheater except her.</p>
<p>In my experience (very rarely but it happens), but if someone’s phone really does go off, a normal proctor gives a warning and that the student would have to be dismissed if it rings a second time. Obviously, the student would say sorry and turn off his/her phone straight away. These kinds of accidents with phones do happen, and most proctors realize that. The 1st time the phone goes off may be accidental, but a 2nd time is definitely not.</p>

<p>In any case, this is getting truly ridiculous. As someone mentioned, tman’s original question has been answered. It’s time to put this to rest. Whether you’re for or against tman, this incident has already come and gone. </p>

<p>I am seriously glad I never had to take the SATs. Hurrah for loopholes. Unfortunately, there are no such loopholes (that I am aware of) for the GMAT and GRE. Shame. </p>

More drama ( drama’s are fake). I go to John marshal hs in La and coincidently was in the same room, as far as I know there was no girl wearing a red dress but I totally agree that tman was eating and the proctor was jealous.</p>

Proctors ARE SUPPOSE TO SEAT YOU like if you have a calculator that is easily seen by others, then the seat you at the side.</p>
<p>Most proctors don’t write how many you left blank… the machine scores it. And EVEN if he did, I couldn’t care less because that won’t affect anyone’s scores.</p>

<p>Most proctors are teachers at the school that the test is administered at, or at a local school. Often they will proctor both ACT and SAT - is there really that big of a difference between the two? They pay nicely either way.</p>
<p>But I concur - proctors are lazy about dismissing people because of the paperwork it involves. Collegeboard knows how litigious parents can be, so they’ll obviously try to cover their ass.</p>
