I am wondering why Johns Hopkins sent me this and if this is a good omen for my admissions chances?

No its not a gud omen for ur admission but a precritereon based email that they sent to loaaaads of othe ppl.. check out JHU message boards for details..

Hmm maybe I'll wait for an answer from someone who can actually spell a few of the words in their reply....

why dont u just go to the message boards that JHU has got.. get their web address frm the forum and take a look there .. Its worthless trying to depend on ppl for every tiny information when u can get the stuff yourself..

Typically I will avoid posting on threads with clear signs of rudeness -- a little decorum and pleasantness people!

As far as your question, no receiving the email will the fee waiver has nothing to do with your admissibility nor is it a predictor of your acceptance. Every year a select group of our database are contacted close to the deadline to encourage them to consider completing the application. The students selected have made contact with our University in some manner. There is no tracking of admissions qualifications involved, therefore the fee waiver and email is a courtesy only.

Hope that explains it.
