Sorry for the title.

Did ne of u ppl receive a notification from JHU that they received the application? i didnt....

how do we know if they received everything?

That should answer all of your questions...

come to think of it, i never received notification.

I called the school today and they said my app is complete :)

well i just went and looked at my stuff, and i got a lil blue one...so i dunno, but i doubt its a huge deal

when will JH send out decision mails this year? does it do online decision or email notification?

E-mail notification, I think. From what I hear, it'll come in the last week of March...

Decisions will be released the last week of March. No official date has been set yet. As we did with our ED decisions, once all decision letters are in the mail we will send email decisions to those applicants who have working email addresses. We do not have an online system for checking admission decisions. As well, we do not release decisions over the phone until a week after our mail date.

admission daniel.. May I ask this here..

Does JHU also admit student with finaid requirement without giving financial aid..this is for international students...

I mean is it possible for JHU to negotiate finaid with applicants or maybe admit them without financial aid yet giving admission..

Or is it .. either finaid as per the requirement or no admission at all..

I know certain schools do have that policy so was wondering about JHU,..

SMARTMIND

I think someone gave an answer on this a while back

For internationals, they make their decision
After they make their decision, they look at if you have the ability to pay or not, and give finaid to specific individuals
If you can pay but are not given finaid, you're still admitted
If you can't pay and are not given finaid, then the end result is that you're rejected

NOT 100% sure on this, but I remember reading it

dude.. i was the one to ask that also and admissiondaniel did answer there .. but here the question is different.. i will wait for an official verdict then..

Good memory canadaeh!!!

Just to re-cap, the process for international applicants who have financial need is as follows:

(1) The application is reviewed by Admission for an admit, wait list, or deny decision.
(2) For those international students slated to be admits, if there is financial need they are reviewed jointly by Admissions and Financial Aid for funding.
(3) A small select group of international students will be offered aid packages and will be admitted.
(4) Those international students who we are unable to offer aid to are unfortunately not offered admission as they would not be able to gain a student visa to study at Hopkins.

Hope that explains it. This is common practice at most institutions, though some do things a bit differently.

Thank you admissionsdaniel.. actually i was looking for the last part.. that stated those who arent admitted in finaid round but have need will not be admitted with partial or no aid...
