I was wrongly accused of “falsifying a Doctors note” at a junior CC, will it affect my chances of tr

Long story short, I had a real Doctor’s note but was accused of forgery because the Doctor wrote the wrong date. I was not aware of the wrong date, turned it in, and when accused, I tried to call the Doctor but he did not admit to his mistake. I pleaded with the dean and she even told me that she really felt sorry for me, but she had to honor the professor’s complaint. Now I’m stuck with this on my “record” and am afraid it’ll affect my ability to transfer to a UC. I am an honor student, volunteer at a hospital, are in numerous clubs, and keep a very high GPA. I am honestly so heartbroken that I’ve been falsely accused and it’s silly, but have shed tears over this whole situation. I read that some UC’s will give me a chance to explain what happened on the application but I feel as though if I tell them the honest truth, they won’t believe me. If any of you have any advice, I am all ears. Thank you so much.

You need to get that sorted out. Don’t let something ridiculous hinder your confidence. Return to the doctor’s office and confront him – advocating for yourself is key!

You need to speak to whomever is the student services administrator above your dean. This might be a director or a vice-president.
