How are my stats and profile looking?

Schools:
Harvard
Columbia
U Penn (Wharton)
Stanford
NYU (Stern BPE)
USC
Santa Clara
Cal Berkeley

how can your school be pre-NYU BPE if BPE was just created for this year… they only accepted like 70 out of the 800 applicants, it’s tough and your stats are really a touch below average for NYU Stern as it is - so they’re definitely below average for BPE, so NYU Stern BPE is definitely a reach. (as of right now)

but i’m sure you’ll get your scores and what not up. good luck, it’s tough to get into =D

noo. i’m not saying it’s like pre bpe in that sense. i’m just saying like NYU wants to see the world in a more global perspective, not the us persepctive on everything, and that’s what my school does. it’s hard to explain. but thanks. and yeah i’ll try to get my scores up.

I think you have problems with your ECs. Though you took classes at the University of Oregon and are class president, the range of your classes and your activities in general don’t show much a focus to anything in particular. Your board scores seem low too. A 31 ACT converts into about a 2040 SAT, which is low for the top 4 on your list. I think you’d need to get that up to a 33. However, you are a URM which should help you.

Actually, I think you have outstanding chances! Your courseload is amazingly rigorous, you have two varsity sports, class president and you are Hispanic! Additional strengths are your hispanic targeted service/tutoring operation and your clear interest in multiple foreign languages. Make sure to keep developing those two in particular.

I would not put any of those schools out of the question. Of course, it would be great to lift your standardized scores a bit–WHICH YOU ABSOLUTELY CAN- by devoting as little as 30 minutes a day from now until the October testing (you mentioned ACT, take an SAT practice test and see how that goes, then practice only the test you are strongest at).

In closing, you are a strong student with great credentials-- Every school you have listed is likely to seriously consider you and I bet that at least one of the ivies will say “yes”.
