<p>Hi, I recently got accepted to Rice through ED. And I have indicated that I'm a potential IB diploma candidate. </p>
<p>Here's the question: If for some reason I could not get the diploma at the end of the year (for example, after failing to submit my Extended Essay on the final due date), would Rice rescind my admissions? Or is it transcript (grades) that they care more about?</p>

<p>I don’t remember even indicating to Rice that I had gotten my IB diploma after I got it. Just don’t let your grades tank.</p>
<p>Oh sorry, it was part of the application that the counsellor filled out that asked him to indicate whether or not I was part of the IB program.</p>
<p>Right, I’m just saying you don’t even need to tell them at the end of the year whether you got it or not.</p>
<p>You get your official diploma at the end of June or July, in which case you’ll already be done with high school and preparing to go to Rice. I don’t think they will care whether you got the diploma in the end or not.</p>
<p>Though it does suck that you didn’t turn in your EE on time.</p>
