IB Exams Thread

oh yeah confusedHSjunior, the math sl test isn't too hard.

i somehow managed to get a 6, self-studying all the non-calculus topics.

Oh yes, good luck to all IB-ers.
I actually am very glad that our school doesn't offer IB programs. If they did, I would go to the corner of my room and silently cry all day.

anybody taking chem sl this year?
how are you studying?

Was anyone else anally raped by the Math SL exam, or am I just an idiot? :D

yeah i heard math sl was ridic today

That sucks that Math SL was hard...all of my friends who took it last year thought it was super easy, and many got 7s. I'm in HL, which was ok...math is the one class where I'll be happy with anything that's passing, though, so my standards in that regard aren't too high.

I'm in Chem HL, to Ari and Sarah, so...not exactly the same, but it's still chem. Our teacher is amazing though, so I don't even feel like I need to do too much studying, except for the options. Our tests all year have been former IB questions, and we had two weeks of pure review at the end of the year, so I really feel quite prepared.

I'm in Chemistry HL, too. My teacher is a decent person (in a cynical, British sort of way) but an utterly incompetent chemistry teacher. I am very afraid.

done with physics- I think I did pretty well, a lot better than I expected
english a2 HL- done done done, nailed it 100%
math hl paper1- screwed lol, but I saw that coming

I have math paper 2 tomorrow, I forsee another screwing...same for paper 3

Thank god that this is my last test this week, ( but I still have the others left).... my 18th b-day is on sunday, so feel free to congratulate me whenever you want hahaha jk

"Was anyone else anally raped by the Math SL exam, or am I just an idiot? "

lol..thats pretty explicit...thats literally what my friends and I said when we got out of the math HL paper 1 ( mae...que culeada nos acaban de meter....meh too hard to translate exactly, it would lose the fun to it)

^You wouldn't tell from my posts, but I am so foul-mouthed. It only occurred to me tonight how bad I am (after I'd posted the above, of course), hence the following post in my online journal:

I'm not opposed to cursing for any moral or religious reasons, but it's an inelegant use of language, and I'm starting to suspect that it hurts my credibility.

I actually for the most part found Math SL easy yesterday. Let's just hope the work I showed is enough.

lol math HL was okay, i jus thot it was realli long.... scared for chem HL tho

MATH WAS EASY! ! ! ! ! Here comes the 7!

Can someone tell me how to study for IB psychology????

I took psych (SL) last year, but honestly I don't know. Good luck though.

for anyone taking hl psychology or sl psycholgy, try and read this site

http://cranepsych.com/Psych/index.html

I just did math paper 2... I did much ebtter than I thought... I think I might be able to hit 5-6

So...what do you think you're going to get on the exams that you've taken so far, based on your performance?

IB English A1 HL: Probably a 4 or a 5, just depends on how nitty-gritty the graders are going to go with dramatic conventions. Woo.
IB Mathematics: 6, and I really don't mean that in an arrogant way. I just felt confident throughout most of the exam, missing only a couple spots. Now, according to the curve and with a decent grade on my projects, I do think a 7isn't impossible, however, I always associate 7 with being like a god in the subject.

sl math was okay. paper 1 was a lot harder than paper 2. (i did TZ2 though so i'm not sure about the other timezone). the last question (of paper 1) was crazy hard.

for the person who asked about preparing for sl chem, what i did was go over the entire syllabus yesterday (luckily most of it (except acids and bases :S) was review) and then today i'm just going to go through all the p1 and 2 past years my teacher gave me. i think that should hopefully be enough.

physics- I hoenstly think I could have gotten a 7, if not at least a 6
english a2- somewhere alogn the lines of a 6
math paper 1 paper2- I could have a 5 or low 6, but paper 3 is gonna bring me down to a 5 or 4
