Ib or ap(international school in china)

<p>In our school, ib is considered as a more advanced system than AP
Only Top 10% student are allowed to take IB classes</p>

<p>But I heard that AP is more useful if you want to study in US
Is that the case?
Will taking IB classes become a disadvantage?( IB is harder and students might get lower GPA, I heard there are students dropped out every year )</p>

<p>I am a sophomore.</p>

<p>IB and AP are essentially the same for admission in the US. Do the IB if you can. It will give you better options worldwide. AP is a US program and it is not recognized in every country. IB is an international program and it is recognized everywhere.</p>
