I consider IB more rigorous and impressive than AP. I took AP courses all throughout high school and our school didn't offer IB, but I wish it did. You have more options when looking at schools in other countries, and basically every other applicant to the top U.S. colleges has taken AP...it doesn't seem like as many have gone through IB.

IB is definitely more rigorous because not only does it ask for a lot of hard work in class, but it also asks for a lot of work on your own, outside of class.

However, for the most part, IB and AP are given the same weight in most U.S. colleges.

My conclusion: If you're planning on going abroad (outside the U.S.), do IB. If you're planning on staying in the U.S., do AP.

hmmm AP isnt offered at my school, well most schools in my city dont offer AP(i live in canada). I took IB and i finished 2 SL courses already. Sometimes yeah the workload was pretty bad but after a while things get pretty easy, but i dont know if you want to do the diploma or not because you have to do a theory of knowledge class which sucks pretty bad....

We didn't have an MYP project, what is it?

most schools that have IB in the US dont have MYP (middle years program)
