Does anybody know what colleges look at the predicted grades for IB exams? Are they a significant factor at top schools, or do they not really matter?

In the US, I don't think they matter much...if at all. I know at my school we don't even report them on apps or anything. If you're international trying for US schools, perhaps the situation would be different, and they certainly play a very significant role when applying to non-US schools, and I certainly don't see how putting them down to could harmful, per se. However, I really don't think they'd be of any help at all. (I mean, look at the ridiculously low amount of credit most schools give for IB tests...many schools accept a 4 on AP, but only down to a 6 on HL IB, and none for SL...those two are so vastly non-equivalent it makes me want to rip my hair out. But whatever.)

Yes, I've noticed the large disparity for IB credit and AP credit as well.

Actually, I'm asking this mainly because I have an IA for English this week (I'm a junior), and I'm wondering if it's worth it to be staying up late working on it.

Predicted scores don't really matter. They do look at SL scores from your junior year, though.

IA's typically count for ~25% of your IB grade...it's worth staying up for it.
