7 on IB, IMO is harder than a 5 on AP (assuming syllabi are similar), but IB is easier to pass.

IB and AP have different syllabi.

Gemini, can you tell me about the HL test? And were you good at spanish? I either take spanish HL or comp sci HL...

quitejaded,
The HL test wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. It has two essay components, a short and long one. A LOT of reading comprehension. You get about 4-5 short stories/articles that you are asked questions about. It is only really difficult when you absolutely do not understand the reading, which happened to me on one of them. Actually, if you are good at Spanish the SL test isn't that bad whereas the HL was a real challenge for me. The AP test is in between the two in difficulty (I got a 3 last year on it and re-took it for some reason)

Writing in Spanish was my strength so I think that helped a lot. My teacher actually predicted me at a 6 (and at a 7 if I took SL) but i was on the edge anyway because my IA's (two verbal presentations) were borderline.

Oh, you didn't do really good at our IAs you mean? Because that would make me feel a lot better hehe

I did so-so, I was partnered for one with another girl who was in SL and he gave her our score and then lowered it in each of the 4 sections a whole point for me :( , even though I did all the research and had the right answers. I hated the IA's though, speaking is not my strong point.

it doesnt seem like many people here took the IB tests.. the frenzy is all about the AP.

i didn't check my scores until this morning which is why i'm posting a few days late... I think i scored well overall (38) considering all i wanted from IB was the diploma (minimum 24 points). and, unlike a few people at my school, IB was never the meaning of life for me. i wish more universities would acknowledge the IB diploma though. my college, for instance, will not give any credit for IB exams unless they are Higher Level 6/7's, which are a bit harder to earn than 4/5's on APs IMO.

I meant similar in difficulty, not in content.

ooohhh i got a 45 - A in EE, but B in TOK.

hehe not much use to me unfortunately. My UK friends were celebrating tho : )

Not as many schools offer the IB as much as the AP.

Wow! You got a 45? What was your EE about?

I just want ATLEAST a 31 so I can get all those credits at Tulsa.

My EE was on using two different ligands to inhibit the degradation of Vit C at various temperatures. I was surprised it turned out so well because the project ended up a lot more difficult than I'd expected. More of my conclusion was on summing up how bad my experiment was than on what I'd actually found out from it hehe.

How do you all get them? Are they available in the U.S.?

this thread is three years old.. haha that's funny i told my brother they came out..

How did you guys do in IB Psychology SL?
Last year so many people got a 7. I got a 7 this time and I am kinda surprised because there was quite a bit of bsing.
