IB Students acceptance rates are significantly higher than regular acceptance rates

Hi guys!
I was just researching whether the IB diploma/certificate held any weight in the college admissions process and came across this:
<a href="http://dasd-sharepoint.dasd.org/Schools/STEMAcademy/Documents/IB_University_Acceptance_Rates.pdf">http://dasd-sharepoint.dasd.org/Schools/STEMAcademy/Documents/IB_University_Acceptance_Rates.pdf</a></p>

Although quite outdated, this study indicates that Ib student's acceptance rates to colleges are usually higher than the normal admisions rate across the board. Some colleges show a jump of over 30%! Can anyone vouch for this? just wanted to see what you guys thought.

That is probably because, at high schools which offer IB, the IB program is the most challenging course selection available, so it will get a high proportion of the best students at the high school. Such students would likely have high college acceptance rates even if the school’s most challenging course selections were something other than IB. That is neither a surprise, nor does it mean anything magical about IB.
