what target school do you think i can transfer to wiht a 3.4ish

Indiana, and even if you're an Engineering major a 3.4 won't cut it for I-Banks unless you have major connections

Indian is highley recruited? How about an city schools?

if you want buldge bracket banks they only recruit at the best schools...nyu, wharton, mit, harvard, princeton.....anywhere else will make it incredibly difficult to go into ibanking

do you REALLY wanna go into ibanking? with a 3.4, you probably won't even be able to get an internship unless you're at a top school like wharton.

and sorry, but with a 3.4 at a non-competitive school (i'm assuming since you want to transfer), i highly doubt that you're even cut out for ibanking.

connections mean more than grades and your ability to present yourself can go far as well.

It's only after my freshman year I mean I have time to pick up

i would look into top publics like Michigan, UVA.

Most ppl for ibanking go to top schools: HYP, other ivies, top lac's, and top publics. Of these, the top publics are probably your best bet given the GPA.

Are Stanford and Yale good if you want to go into i-banking? Do you major in math and econ for that or do you have to go to a b-school?

Yeah, Indiana gets recruited, but only if your in their competitive Investment Banking Workshop, where everyone has 3.8s w/ stacked resumes

Stanford and Yale, just by nature of being uber-top schools are highly recruited. I think Yale, given its proximity to NYC, is recruited more. However, this only means that there are more on campus events held by firms. Coming from Stanford, you could of course apply to a firm that has not visited campus, and still be perceived as a very strong candidate.

There are no specific requirements for the major, but something quantitative is preferred (math, econ, math & econ, even a physical science)

Thank you!

no problem. Did you decide which you will be going to in the fall?

does haas get recruited often?

What are some top public i should focus on?

http://www.careers-in-finance.com/ib.htm

? whati meant top public school

if you want to get into Ibanking, the best publics to attend would be UMichigan-Ross, UC-Berkeley, and UVA-McIntire.

but honestly speaking, i don't think you'll get into any of those with a 3.4. your best alternative is to go to indiana and work your butt off. 3.8+ gpa, best internships, best ec's, and you better be solid at interviewing. i was actually gonna transfer into indiana this fall, but they gave me a 2k scholarship and expected me to take out a 30k loan for the next 3 years. that is DEFINITELY not worth it.

Indiana is only good if you get into the Workshop i thought?
