Which colleges outside of the "top 50" have the best placement in ibanking?

Outside of the top 50, they’re all basically the same for NY. For NY, those schools will rarely place for banking. From a school outside the top 30, you’ll need a 3.8+, relevant internships and need to network your ass off with alumni from the school that may be in banking. Banking from a school outside the top 50 will be a crap-shoot so try to get into the most prestigious school out of the top 50 you can. I recommend you ask this question @ Wallstreetoasis.com there’s alot of people from non target schools who are in banking because of that site. They give some good advice on what to do.

would northwestern, umich, case western reserve, miami oh, or indiana bloomington count as at least “semi-targets”?

I know for a fact, Northwestern and UMich are WELL RESPECTED on the street. A good GPA from those schools will deff get you a job. At Northwestern, you might have to take the job at a Chicago office but you’ll deff get an offer. IN banking, your school will only get your resume looked at. After that, it’s up to you. Good Luck. CWR,Miami, and Indian I’m not too knowledgeable on sry.

Thanks, I will do my best to get into one of those schools

Do not overlook IU’s business school. It has an investment banking workshop and program.

I do like IU and plan on applying there
