What are some schools that have a higher acceptance rates (30-50 percent-ish) and still have a decent shot of breaking into ibanking?

My my you just want everything don’t ya?

Breaking into a selective field via a non-selective school just doesn’t sound right…

Perhaps Indiana Kelley, but you’d have to work hard anyway to get into their I-bank workshop

^Maybe, but certainly ■■■■■■■■ is indicative that someone lacks a social life. :D

Rice, Emory, Vanderbilt, CMU and the like

There aren’t really any imo.

I have heard numerous stories about people going into investment banking from non-selective colleges, but I do not think that there is any good answer to your question just because of the nature of non-selective colleges.

It does not make sense that banks would put time into recruiting from non-selective schools rather than selective schools. That said, taking networking into account, it is completely possible to get into banking from non-targets.

Perhaps Zicklin at CUNY Baruch would work? I know that a number of big-name firms recruit there.

Admittedly, I’m not an expert on the different kinds of IBanking positions available, so I don’t know what positions they get.

[BBA in Finance — Zicklin School Of Business - Baruch College - CUNY](http://zicklin.baruch.cuny.edu/faculty/economics/programs/bba-finace)

Baruch is excellent but highly selective, I think they only accept around 20% of applicants.

What about Villanova? They seem to have a good rep and I read they accept around 40%, but that may be lower for the business school.

Also, Long Island University? Its not very selective and has some very successful alumni.

Miami U is an up and coming… quote me on it :D

There are no safety schools for IB. If you aren’t from a top target and you don’t have stellar connections, you’ll have close to no chance.

You’ll be waiting for a long time, sir.

I’m not waiting for anything, I’ll be in bulge within the next 2 years and Miami will be at least a semi-target within 4-5.

As a trader: “Yours! I can do that in volume”

No it’s not. No banks recruited on campus for SA this past winter.

Keep dreaming about Miami

cool story bro

Hence the term ‘up and coming’.

Give it a few years.

No need to be a dick about it, it’s just my opinion with good facts to back it up. I-Banking preparation programs, I-Banking classes, Modeling training courses, increased numbers of interns at bulge and reputable MM firms… slowly working its way to Indiana status.

Indiana is not a target.

Pretty close to a semi-target, sends a very good number of students to bulge and mm firms each year.
