ICs at Inprocessing

Regarding IC's--the coach will communicate with the appointee that they might be meeting the night before the "check in" for an informal get together. When you sign up for the Bed and Breakfast program for in -processing that will be one question that you will be asked. That way they know that they will run you in to the meeting/dinner the night before, then drive you up to the academy in the morning. Evidently at that point you send in your "gear bag" to the coach who takes it home and brings it to the first practice. Practices start later in the summer anyway. A tennis parent told me a similar story that also, since her son had a collection of shoes, racquets, etc . As they have lockers at the athletic building the coach stored it there. I don't think they had that much fun at the dinner as the kids were kind of nervous at that point!!

falcons '11- i was born in goldsboro, by seymour johnson afb. i lived there til i was two or three, so i don't remember it really

A friend of ours was an IC last year. I'm pretty sure he reported to a different location on I-day. At least that's the explanation his parents gave when we didn't see him at in-processing.

MomofAppointee2011 - my apologies to you and your daughter! How did I miss that one since I read all your posts!! ;)

AFDAD2010 - no problem. I suspect your "daughter" and mine will have an opportunity to meet in the days/months ahead (turn around is fair play, right?!! :D
ha ha ha :D

I accidentally left my dental x-rays in my bag while going through the line (left bags outside). They just took me back and did some quick ones, it wasn't an issue even when they required it. People make mistakes.

PACK LIGHT. My only regret is having a bit too much with me.
