I just want a quick, not so thorough chancing, because I'm curious. I will probably apply ED. I got a 2230 on the SAT (M: 790, CR: 640, W: 800), and 32 on ACT, but with 8 on writing. I know Dartmouth is big on writing, so I hope that's okay. I'll retake in October though for SAT, and hopefully break 700 on reading. I'll retake ACT in September. My GPA is a 3.92. I have 6 APs through junior year. 5 more next year. I'm into math and science and do research in those areas. During sophomore year I did math research and discovered my own theorem and algorithm. At USC I did some marine bio research, but nothing big. And I got into a really competitive research program (accepted 31 of 290) and will be doing marine biochem this summer. My research, community service and extracurriculars reflect the environment. I compete in science olympiads and got 1st place in ecology at regionals and 5th at states. I don't have much else that is significant. I'm pretty focused. I love everything about the outdoors. That is why Dartmouth first appealed to me. I am not completely academically focused though. I enjoy playing jazz saxophone, JV golf, going mountain biking and fishing. I know my numbers aren't great, but do you think I have a decent shot?

No responses? Please?

hi,
you seem to have a pretty good shot.
my numbers were a little worse, and i got in… i don’t think those will keep you down.
it’s good that you have a common trend with your activities.
still, hard to say. who even knows how they decide? good luck!!

You seem very Dartmouth, AKA you like the outdoors, intelligent, well-rounded, so I think you would be a powerful candidate. Your SATs are great, along with the rest of your app. Just make your essays shine and you will have a solid chance on getting in. :)

Chance me back?
