<p>A huge hint of advice: Join the UCSC groups on facebook. There are usually a lot of discussions going on over there, you can add people that share common majors/dorms/anything, and also people in that group might plan an event so people can get to know each other before school starts. I went on a bonfire trip 2 years ago when I was accepted and I had SUCH a great time. I still hang out with friends that I made on that trip.</p>

<p>can i ask a semi-dumb question -.-. How do you SIR XD, because I can go on my portal but where do you SIR :O(Yes I’m admitted XD).</p>
<p>OMGitsMe: right under ur acceptance notification, there is a link that says, “Now ur admitted, whats next” or something like that, and then just follow the directions.</p>

<p>I already submitted my SIR, but I still haven’t received any mail from UCSC (only some emails). Supposedly there is supposed to be an admissions packet with housing info and such that you receive within two weeks of admission. It’s been three weeks now and no mail… anyone else not gotten their stuff yet, or if you have how long did it take?</p>
<p>SIR = Statement of Intent to Register.</p>
