Do Duke and Carnegie Mellon request for IDOC from all international applicants? I had filled up the CSS profile and included the above colleges, but I did not apply for FA. Do I still have to send my and my parents tax form to IDOC as these two colleges had requested the same.
I am an international applicant from US.
Ok…I’ll bite. If you completed the Profile…and submitted it to the colleges…what did you think you were doing?
That IS applying for financial aid.
Thanks. Not really, I completed the CSS profile before I applied to these two colleges as a requirement for another college. Since I was going to apply RD for Duke and CMU, I included them as well. But while filling out the common app, I checked ‘no’ when asked if I would like to apply for financial aid (not sure internationals are even eligible ) !!!
P.S. Not that I mind getting aid…i.e. If I’m admitted of course
Looks like CMU does not offer need based aid to international students…and Duke has limited aid for international, students.
I would suggest that you send both schools an email, saying you are not applying for financial aid…if that is the case.
Thanks, thumper1…it helps… will do so. Also I think I will not qualify for need based FA.
Those schools cost $60,000 a year. You will need to complete a certification of finances guaranteeing that you have the full funding available to pay for your cost of attendance. You will need this to get your student visa.
As a resident international ( I have been living in the US since grade 4), an H4 visa holder, I was exempted from the above as well as the English proficiency requirement.
Duke has an entire scholarship program dedicated to international students. Definitely worth applying.
