IDOC - Pen/Pencil?

Hey.
For the cover sheet of IDOC, do we use pen or pencil? It might be pencil because we have to bubble things in (like a MCQ Scantron sheet, lol), or pen because we need to sign it at the bottom anyway.

It's not specified anywhere, so if any of you can help...Thanks!

We used a black pen...

I used pen as well, since it didn't say to use pencil.

did y'all send in the Verification Worksheet (Dependent) along with IDOC.

And how the hell have y'all already finished your IDOC things. Taxes are JUST beginning to be prepared. I don't understand how it seems everyone here is always ahead of everyone else.

Frisbee

For the first time in twenty years, we had our income tax statements completed by Feb 10! :-)

We own/operate a farm, so completing our taxes early this year was no small feat. But, in order to meet the financial aid deadlines, we did what we had to do.

We completed our tax return on February 3. We amended the FAFSA and Profile right after that, and sent the info to the IDOC. It was all processed on Feb 8. We KNEW that for freshman finaid, the deadlines were early and planned all along to complete this ASAP after Jan 31 (when we had all of our W-2, and 1099 info). This should not be a surprise deadline for first year college students. This is the ONE TIME it is essential to get the taxes done ASAP. No waiting until April 15th. BTW...we did the FAFSA as a "will file" using estimates on January 1. Taxes are NOT just beginning to be done. It is very possible to complete one's taxes on Jan 31 because that is the deadline for receipt of all tax info.
