So, I just signed into IDOC for the first time and saw that it requires my tax returns, W-2, and 1099, but I never had a job or filed tax returns. What am I supposed to do?
You have to fill out a non-filer’s statement. Each college will usually have it on their website.
When I click on “Click here if you did not receive a W2 for this year”, there is an option that says, “I am not reporting any income. Please process my information without a W-2 or substitute document.” should I select this? @Thedidactic
I’m not really sure since I think that situation pertains to if you just didn’t get a W-2 or you received something instead of a W-2. You haven’t worked at all, so I think the nonfiler’s statement still applies.
In IDOC go to forms and print out the non tax filers form and then scan it back into IDOC, I did this for my son.
Thanks @ny4mom
If you don’t have a scanner or prefer to type, you can fill out the forms right in Adobe Acrobat Reader and sign them digitally as well. http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/electronic-signatures-e-signatures.html
