If a CS student wants to transfer from CAS to CoE...

...what would his schedule look like?

I'm thinking of maybe transferring from CAS to CoE during or after my freshman year.

Why? COE is more work for 0 benefit.

I hear that having a degree from COE will increase your chances at jobs and Grad school admissions.

Hear from who? Don’t rely on rumors. Why the hell would being in engineering suddenly increase your chances at anything? It’s stupid. It’s the exact same major, except you have to take physics, chem and engineering math.

Back when they posted median salaries for BS and BA CS students, BA students consistently got higher starting salaries.

i dont know if it’s a rumor…but i have heard that BA CS majors have had to explain (to employers?) that BS and BA CS take the same classes for the major…

Arggghhh. Would explaining things take much effort? I mean, if it takes hours and hours of my time to explain to every one of my employers that BA and BS took the same classes, then I’m willing to spend time transferring, but if it’s just a simple “They’re the same” would do, then I don’t know if it’s worth it.

Take a courses of study guide

Copy the pages talking about the requirements

Show them to employers

What is so hard about that? And none of my interviewers have ever given a crap about the difference between a BA and a BS CS degree.

Alright. Thanks for helping me out. :)

A portion of my future paycheck will be made out to you.

^^ Ray192’s an econ man, he thinks of everything in terms of opportunity cost ;D

Also with the econ man statement, you’ll probably be getting emails from him with an address you can forward those future paychecks too :D
