I know that if I were to be accepted early decision at UPenn, I need to widthdraw all my applications to other schools. So, that means that I am still allowed to apply early action to other schools when I apply ED to UPenn?

*Also, I understand that I cannot apply to a binding early action, such as Yale. But, can I apply to early action when it is nonbinding?

Yes you can. For example you could apply Early Action to the University of Chicago

@Wharton2020 - Okay. So, I can apply ED to UPenn and EA to:

University of Chicago
Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Boston College
University of Michigan
University of Miami
Tulane University

You have to check the website for each school. So it may be OK with Penn to apply EA other places, but not with all of those other schools. For BC, they say this:

› A student applying Early Action to Boston College may apply to other Early Action programs.

› A student applying to a binding Early Decision II program may apply Early Action to Boston College.

› A student applying to a binding Early Decision program may not apply Early Action to Boston College.

@suzy100 - Thanks for that. Didn’t notice it. I better look carefully at those other schools now!

I am pretty certain Chicago, MIT, and Tulane allow you to apply EA while you are applying ED somewhere else. BC and Georgetown do not. I don’t know about Michigan, but when they had rolling admissions it certainly wasn’t a problem.
